The hunt is on for a man wanted in connection with a double homicide suspect who escaped from custody in Natchitoches Parish Friday morning.
According to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones, Jr., deputies were in the process of interviewing Reado N. Nargo, age 30, of 114 Vaughn St., Campti, LA, in connection with a double homicide that occurred Wednesday night, in Campti.
Sheriff Jones said at the same time the Natchitoches Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force had captured DeQuincy Rushing, age 19 , of Natchitoches, who was wanted on an attempted murder charge, in connection with the shooting of Anthony Loucious on January 15, in Payne Subdivision.
As deputies attentions were diverted to the newly captured Rushing, Nargo slipped from custody. Deputies immediately began a search for Nargo, assisted by the Natchitoches Police Department.
Additional personnel from both the Natchitoches Sheriff's Office and the Natchitoches Police Department were called in to contain suspected hiding locations and follow up on reports of suspicious persons.
Nargo described by police as a black male, approximately 6'2'', 185 lbs., dark complexion, and braided hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a baby blue T-shirt, black boots, and a puffy black hooded jacket. He was still in handcuffs at the time of his escape.
Anyone with information regarding Nargo is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, at 357-7830. Anyone sighting Nargo is asked to call 911. Sheriff Jones said Nargo is considered dangerous.
