When the Academy Awards are announced next month, many of us will have a favorite film to root for, but we all will have a favorite studio to cheer on.
That's because it was announced this week that a film produced by Shreveport's own Moonbot Studios is nominated for an Academy Award.
The short animated film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore is up for the award.
Receiving a nomination like this is a big deal for the studio for the film's creative team and for the entire Ark-La-Tex. As we all know, the film industry has become a significant part of our economy. Several studios, including Moonbot are now located here.
An Academy Award nomination and a possible win will help bring the attention of the entire film industry to what we like to call Hollywood South.
So, on February 26th, let's all cheer on The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
I'm James Smith.
