SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A regional fight to bring low cost Internet services to low income families makes its way to Shreveport Tuesday afternoon to protest a local service provider.

United Labor Union members, a group of workers at Caddo Head Start and six nursing homes in Shreveport will protest at the Shreveport Comcast Office, located at 6529 Quilen Rd.

The Internet Essentials program allows families that qualify for free lunch programs or are head start students to receive lower service rates.

According to United Labor's 'Local 100' members, Comcast doesn't advertise those offers so they have reportedly filed letters with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) asking them to step in.

The protest is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
