CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Area law enforcement is on the lookout for four federal drug suspects who were mistakenly released from custody on Wednesday after their pending state charges were dismissed, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and U.S. Marshal Henry Whitehorn. One additional suspect has already been located and returned to jail.

All five inmates appeared in federal court last week for arraignment after their case was adopted by the U.S. Attorney's Office. On Wednesday, a district court judge dismissed all state charges against them, and the Caddo Correctional Center was notified of the dismissal.  Jail staff received this information and released the defendants on Wednesday evening.

"This unfortunate event was a breakdown in communication with the U.S. Marshals and jail staff, and not the fault of any particular agency or officer," said Whitehorn.

One of the defendants, 52-year-old Cecil Cole, was located at his residence and returned to custody last night. The others remain at large. Caddo Sheriff's resources and U.S. Marshals are working diligently to locate and apprehend the remaining defendants. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is urged to contact their local law enforcement agency.

The suspects at large are:

1. Darien Jones, aka "Little Troy," 22, of the 2900 block of Looney;

2. Darien Reliford, aka "Big Troy," 41, of the 2900 block of W. Laurel;

3. Tamika Barrett, aka "Tamika Reliford," 40, of the 2900 block of Milton; and

4. Lagashia Woodard, 21, of the 2900 block of Looney.

These individuals, along with eight (8) other co-defendants were arrested on November 15, 2011, following an investigation by DEA, Louisiana State Police, and the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force.  All defendants were arrested and incarcerated at Caddo Correctional Center on state charges.
