Head-on collision claims life, injures several others

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A two vehicle crash has claimed the life of one person and sent five others to the hospital. 

Caddo Sheriff's Patrol deputies responded to an accident at North Lakeshore Drive and R. C. Thompson Road at approximately 4:30 Sunday afternoon.  Once on the scene, deputies found that two cars had hit head on. 

It appears a 2006 Nissan Altima, traveling eastbound with three occupants had collided with a 2003 Mercedes Benz S500 traveling westbound, also with three occupants. 

Caddo Fire District #1 responded to the scene to treat all involved before they were transported to LSU Hospital in Shreveport for treatment of injuries, ranging from minor to life-threatening. 

The driver of the Altima died at the scene; but the driver's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Presently, the Caddo Sheriff's Crash Unit is investigating this accident. 

No citations have been issued pending the findings of the investigation.

    Shreveport police have released surveillance footage to identify a vandalism suspect.  This happened in December at the Capital One Bank in the 9100 block of Mansfield Road. According to officers on scene, a rock was thrown through the drive-thru glass of the bank. In the video, it shows a man picking up the rock as he heads towards the drive-thru area of the business.
