BATON ROUGE, LA (AP) -

East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show that State Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The Advocate (http://bit.ly/uPTtVI ) reported Saturday that the 49-year-old Rainwater was booked at 1 a.m. on one count each of first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign or yield sign.

Records say a Baton Rouge police officer saw Rainwater run a stop sign and drive on the wrong side of the road.

Rainwater performed "very poor" on his field sobriety test and registered a .170 blood alcohol level, or more than twice the legal limit.

A spokesman for Gov. Bobby Jindal said Paul made a mistake and he deeply regrets it. He said Jindal has complete confidence in Paul's ability to do his job.
