MAGNOLIA, AR (KSLA) -

McCurtain County, OK deputies arrested two men Monday night, saying they had a role in the theft of five horses from Southern Arkansas University.

Sheriff Johnny Tadlock says Mickey Carter and Charles Tremmel each face a charge of possession of stolen things. They are not facing charges related to the actual theft of the horses.

Earlier Tuesday, KSLA News 12 obtained a copy of the arrest affidavit for 18-year-old Jaci Rae Jackson, the teen who's accused of stealing five horses and a horse trailer from Southern Arkansas University. You can read the affidavit in .pdf format here.

On Monday, disturbing details were revealed about the killing of one of the stolen SAU rodeo horses.

The Smith family, owners of "Credit Card", said the horse was shot, its throat was slit and then the horse was cut into pieces. "Credit Card" was found dead days after the other four horses were recovered.

Investigators have not said if Jackson is responsible for the death of 'Credit Card' one of the stolen horses whose remains were found last week in Oklahoma.

The Smith family said they hope the person responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Jackson of McCurtain County, Oklahoma and a current student of SAU was arrested Monday on Highway 82 in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Jackson is a freshman at SAU and rodeo team member.

"I'm really disappointed," said SAU Rodeo Coach Rusty Hayes.

Jackson is charged with three felony theft counts over $25K and three felony theft counts between $5K- $25K in Arkansas. Authorities in Oklahoma have also charged the 18-year-old with three felony counts of bringing stolen property across state lines and animal cruelty.

Detectives said Jackson did not act alone in this case.

"Other suspects involved in this case will be brought to justice," said SAU Police Chief Eric Plummer. "We will not rest or conclude this case until everybody who were involved or had a hand in this case is brought before the courts."

"I hope that justice is served and all the other people involved are behind bars soon," said Ty Luster, SAU rodeo member.

Jackson is expected to make a court appearance later this week and her first official appearance is scheduled for December 15th.
