SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

An undercover sting operation has led to the arrest of Calumet Specialty Product's communications director.

The investigation was conducted under the Louisiana State Police "Operation Child Watch" initiative, a joint multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional law enforcement operation targeting sexual predators that exploit and victimize children.

Louisiana State Police say the year-long investigation culminated in 44-year-old Derek Daniel being arrested Wednesday afternoon at Sam's Town Casino in Shreveport.  State Police Spokesman Cordell Williams tells KSLA News 12 that Daniel was there to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Daniel was taken into custody in the casino parking lot after he arrived.  He faces a felony charge of online solicitation of a minor.

Agents involved in "Operation Child Watch," include Louisiana State Police Region II detectives (Lafayette and Shreveport Field Offices), the LSP Gaming Agents, St Landry Parish Sheriff Office detectives, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office detectives, and detectives with the Shreveport Police Department.

Daniel was released on $15,277 bond the next day after being booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
