Loomis employee accused of taking $30K from Shreveport office

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport Loomis Armored employee has been arrested for felony theft, accused of taking $30,000 from the business. 

Lakita Mullen, 34, is accused of concealing the cash and removing it from the commercial office in the 1500 block of Corporate Drive. The alleged theft was reported to police by the company's Loss Prevention agent. Information available from investigators does not include the capacity in which Mullen was employed by the company, or whether she is still an employee.

A Shreveport Police Detective was able to make contact with Mullen and reports the recovery of a portion of the missing currency.  The investigation is ongoing.

Loomis Armored is an international company that specializes in armored transport, automated teller machine (ATM) services, cash processing and outsourced vault services for banks, other financial institutions, commercial and retail businesses.

The misappropriation of funds of $1,500 or more makes it a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to $3,000 fine. 

Mullen has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Bond has not been set.
