SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Democrat Barbara Norton has won re-election to the Louisiana House of Representatives, defeating Democratic challenger Lynn Cawthorn with 56% of the vote to Cawthorn's 44%.

"Let me say, right now it feels great," Norton said moments after word of the final returns came in. "We certainly want to take opportunity to thank citizens of House District 3. We'd just like to say we thank God. We thank God for shining the light to show out people how to vote."

With Saturday's runoff win, Norton will begin her second term in the State House this spring.
