BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Haughton man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Wednesday morning.

Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen says 32-year-old Juan Sanchez was driving east on Highway 80 near King's Korner when he was stopped by a Bossier Parish deputy for weaving across the road. Sanchez did not have a driver's license and told the deputy it was suspended. The deputy ran a warrant check and discovered Sanchez had two warrants out of Bossier City.

Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Lt. Bill Davis said when the deputy did a pat-down on Sanchez, he found a glass smoking pipe in Sanchez's shirt pocket. Sanchez also let the deputy search his vehicle. The deputy found six small bags believed to be meth that were bagged for resale and weighed about 10 grams.

Sanchez was charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, possession of drug-related items, the two warrants for probation violations out of Bossier City and other traffic violations. Sanchez was taken to the Bossier Maximum Correctional Facility in Plain Dealing for booking with a pending bond.
