SABINE PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
The reward has been doubled for information about an unsolved murder in Sabine Parish.
Crime Stoppers of Sabine, Inc. officials on Tuesday that the reward for information about the 2009 murder of 36-year-old Dennis Ray Hall has been raised from up to $5,000 to up to $10,000.
Hall was shot in the yard of his Converse home while hunting armadillos in the late evening hours of June 21, 2009. To date, there have been no arrests.
"Crime Stoppers wanted to take advantage of the sudden spike in public interest in the case by substantially increasing the reward," said J.C. Ashford, Crime Stoppers President.
Ashford is referring to the recent publication of the District Attorney's subpoena file that sparked a lot of public speculation. "If we keep shaking the tree, the truth is bound to fall," said Ashford.
Crime Stoppers of Sabine Parish Spokesperson K. Jacob Ruppert says all hotline calls are received on a stand-alone phone, without caller I.D., and conversations are not recorded. Callers will be given a private crime stoppers code.
Ashford says when an arrest is made and prosecution against a suspect has started the caller can call the hotline to discuss details on getting the money with the Crime Stoppers coordinator.
Crime Stoppers officials are also offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges in the murder of Millie Lambert in Noble on January 28, 2008.
Anyone with information about either of these murders should call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 318-256-4511.
