TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -
After catching a group of males practicing Parkour, Texarkana Police have issued a warning about this activity.
According to Wikipedia, Parkour "originated in France" and is a way "of movement focused on moving around obstacles with speed and efficiency." "The main purpose of" this activity is to teach participants how to use "alternate or more efficient paths by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping."
Parkour can be done anywhere, and more obstacles mean more training.
TAPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Steve Shelley said before taking part in Parkour, people should think about the charges, physical risks of the activity and the consequences of property damage and illegal entry.
People practicing Parkour, also called PK, can face legal issues including criminal mischief, loitering, curfew violations and criminal trespass.
