SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A bench trial has been set for the forcible rape trial of former Shreveport Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Rick Seaton.
Seaton appeared in Caddo District Court on Monday for a hearing to decide whether Seaton would face trial before a jury or a single judge and set a date. Both sides agreed to a bench trial, and set the date for January 17.
Seaton is due back in court December 12 for arguments and hearings in preparation for the trial.
The former Asst. CAO for the City of Shreveport, is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman inside Government Plaza back in December 2010.
The alleged rape reportedly happened after the Independence Bowl. His accuser was 18 at the time, visiting from out of town.
