DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The DeSoto Parish Police Jury has issued a "partial-lift" of the burn ban in the parish.

The partial lift of the burn ban went in to effect as of 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, resulting in the following types of outdoor burning once again becoming permissible:

1. Outdoor burning in connection with the preparation of food

2. Campfires and fires used solely for recreational purposes or for ceremonial occasions

The DeSoto Parish Police Jury emphasizes that all other outdoor burning remains banned until the burn ban is fully lifted.

A statewide burn ban remains in effect for Louisiana.

The burn ban in Sevier County was also lifted as of Friday.
