Low-lying smoke around E. Texas

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Low lying smoke is creating concern around the East Texas area this morning.

According to numerous emergency agencies, the low lying dense smoke that people are experiencing this morning is from the fires that have been burning through East Texas the past couple of days.

The smoke is resting in the tree lines and below because the winds died down overnight.

Many East Texans are calling local emergency agencies with fears of new fires, but at this time there are no new fires, just smoke left over from the fires that burned yesterday and the ones that are not contained yet.

One roadway remains closed this morning. FM 2207 is closed for precautionary reasons between Hwy 135 and Wilkins Road.
