MT. ENTERPRISE, TX (KLTV) - A fire destroyed three structures and forced several families out of their homes near Mount Enterprise. Four fire departments are fighting the fire that started around 5pm off of Highway 259.

Authorities tell KLTV the fire is about 40 percent contained and approximately 60-70 acres have burned.

Linetor Kellum has lived in her home since 1967 and says this is not the first time she has had a fire in her backyard.

Years ago, firefighters worked in the same place on her property, trying to keep the flames from burning everything she owned, something she experienced all over again.

"They had to go across my property to get to the fire line there and they've been trying to keep it from coming to my house and my daughter's house," Kellum says.

She says the worst part is the wind and no knowing which way the fire will be headed next. Authorities told her to prepare for the worst.

Firefighter Patrick Dooley says three structures have burned.

"We've got multiple structures threatened," he says. But for every home threatened, there are fire engines and pumpers standing by.
