Katelyn Markham's father reflects on massive search for his daughter

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

Katelyn Markham's father, David Markham, met with perfect strangers and determined volunteers who are committed to finding his daughter.

"I can't express my appreciation to everybody that has taken time out of their busy lives, their work, their golf game maybe, that they had planned for today, to stop what they are doing and dedicate today to finding Katelyn, " Markham said.

Markham was the one who initially reached out to Texas EquuSearch to get help finding Katelyn, now to see their expertise in action, he says it's amazing.

"To now know that we're not checking the same areas twice, that everyone's efforts will be utilized 100 percent, and not searching the same area," Markham said.

Markham isn't participating in the search himself, because immediate family is advised not to, but he's still there to support those who are.

"I'm doing everything I can at the command center, signing people in and out, whatever I can do,"  Markham said.

Markham says seeing the organized effort lifts his spirits and lifts is hope that someone will find something to crack this mysterious case.

"It gives a little bit more hope, it's definitely knowing that more is coming and we're not going to stop and it is organized, it does feel a little better," Markham said.

Katelyn Markham was last seen on August 13 at her Fairfield townhome, her fiance was the last person to see her.
