This is a time of year when blood supplies are critical. With the approaching Labor Day weekend, there is usually an increase in the amount of blood needed.
That's why KSLA News 12 has teamed up with LifeShare Blood Centers on a Blood Drive, August 29th - August 30th.
Each day, patients in the Ark-La-Tex need 149 units of blood. Heart bypass patients can use one to five units, a bleeding ulcer can mean as many as 30 units, auto accident victims may need more than 50 units of blood to survive.
That's why the need for blood donations is so critical.
The United We Give...United We Live Blood Drive is being held at multiple locations in Shreveport, Bossier City; Eldorado, Arkansas; Texarkana, Texas; Minden, Louisiana and Mansfield, Louisiana.
