Webster Parish investigates head-on collision

WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Webster Parish Sheriff's deputies were on the scene early Wednesday morning of a major head-on collision.

The accident reportedly happened around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 371 at Brushy Creek, which is located south of Sibley, Louisiana.

Two people were injured and both have been taken to area hospitals and are expected to recover.

According to the Webster Parish Sheriff's Dept., one of the vehicles involved is actually a Halliburton truck. The bridge was reportedly clipped by a second tractor trailer and deputies report that a bridge in the area was damaged as a result of the collision.

The extent of damage the bridge sustained, remains unknown; however, for part of the morning, authorities had to shut down the North and South lanes of traffic on the bridge.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the scene has been cleared, the investigation into how the crash happened continues.
