LA forensic specialist & police investigate human remains found

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Friday morning a Forensic Specialist from the Louisiana State University FACES Lab and Bossier City Police investigators returned to the area where skeletal remains were discovered.

Thursday night, police received an anonymous call reporting the remains and police were quickly dispatched to a wooded area in the 3100 block of E. Texas St., between Airline Dr. and Old Minden Rd.

So far a preliminary assessment of the area has been done by detectives and the Bossier Coroner's office and the scene had been secured.

Authorities have yet to determine the person's gender, race or age.

World renowned forensic anthropologist, Dr. Mary Manheim and a team of assistants, with the LSU FACES Lab is in Bossier City gathering details to help police with the investigation.
