BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Bossier City police are investigating the discovery of human remains in the 3100 block of Texas Street.

Bossier City spokesperson Mark Natale says an anonymous call around 6:15 p.m. alerted police to the remains in the woods behind the Shogun restaurant.

Detectives along with the Bossier Coroner's office were called to the scene. Natale says police have the scene secured and detectives will return in the morning to continue their investigation.

It is unclear at this point whether the remains belong to a male or female.  Race and age are also undetermined.

At the request of Bossier Coroner Dr. John Chandler, LSU forensics anthropologist Dr. Mary Manheim and a team of her assistants will come to Bossier City in the morning to assist with the investigation.
