Haughton wreck kills sister, seriously injures her brother

Haughton, LA(KSLA)- An afternoon drive in Bossier Parish turned deadly killing a woman and leaving her brother in critical condition.

The crash happened just before 4:45 PM Saturday afternoon in the 800-block of West McKinley Avenue in Haughton. Medics flew the two siblings to LSU Medical Center where the woman later on died.

Investigators have blamed speed for the 1-vehicle rollover. They said the driver was going too fast around the corner and lost control before rolling over several times. According to police, neither the brother nor the sister were wearing seat belts and both were thrown from the car.

No names have been released yet pending the notification of family members. The accident was investigated by the Haughton Police Department.
