BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - The push to bring another riverboat casino to Bossier City takes another step forward Wednesday morning.
Bossier City council members will hold a special meeting to hear from the company.
Council members are expected to examine the company's proposal and then decide whether to consider allowing the city to enter into negotiations with the Lafayette-based company to purchase or lease city property.
The city council has already unanimously approved an ordinance to bring the new casino to Bossier.
If the proposal council members look over Wednesday passes, Paradise Casino will then be allowed to build the new riverboat on the plot of land right next to Bass Pro Shop and the Louisiana Boardwalk.
Wednesday morning's meeting is open to the public and the floor will be opened to the public for comments, following the company's presentation.
The project ultimately has to go before voters and an election date has been scheduled for November 19th.
If voters approve the new casino, it is expected to take 12-15 months to complete. The $170 million resort-casino, will feature a 400 room hotel and is expected to be the largest in the area. It is estimated that more than 1200 jobs could be brought to the Ark-La-Tex with this new casino.
Be sure to stay tuned to KSLA News 12 and KSLA.com for more on the council's decision.
