CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - A South Texas city still struggling with drought has started enforcing tougher water-use restrictions. Corpus Christi began enforcement today of Stage 2 conservation for all city water customers. Sprinkler irrigation is limited to one day per week. Violators will first receive a notice and then can face fines of up to $500 per incident.

ABILENE, Texas (AP) - West Texas police say a teenager has died and a person has been injured in a stabbing near Abilene Christian University. Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge says a 19-year-old was killed early yesterday morning at a housing complex near the university. Standridge says police have identified a suspect and have obtained a capital murder warrant.

SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - Police say a girl was killed and three other people were injured in a West Texas all-terrain vehicle crash. Authorities say Anayavilet Almazan of Midland was driving the ATV with seven passengers. She was pronounced dead at Shannon Hospital. An adult passenger and two children were also taken to the hospital.

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) - A West Texas man has died after his pickup truck was struck by a train. Midland Police say Filiberto Baeza drove through one of the crossing guard arms near downtown before the train hit him last night. Police say they found open alcohol containers at the crash site and that alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.
