BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - The family of the three people killed in Bowie County last week is now speaking out.

Police say the mother and her two children suffered violent injuries before someone set fire to the house they were in.

Investigators say the fire was secondary, and that Amanda Doss and her two children, 8 year old Texas Johnson and 11 year old Gweneviere Doss were all murdered.

The grandparents of the children in this blaze ran inside the home trying to rescue the family.

Both suffered bad burns and were hospitalized.

On Wednesday the grandparents, still wearing bandages from their injuries held a news conference and delivered a tearful plea to the public, asking for information that would lead to a suspect.
