SHEREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A 57-year-old Caddo Parish man has been charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer with a firearm after he pointed a shotgun at a deputy.
The sheriff's office said a statement Sunday that Bradley Wade Branch was being held in the parish jail. No bond has been set.
The incident began Saturday when a family reported they'd had an altercation with an unknown man on the road and later at their home.
Deputies went to the man's house where he opened the door and pointed the shotgun at a deputy, who fired one round, striking the house. The man went back into the house and called the sheriff's office on the phone. Dispatchers told the caller to put down his weapon and come outside, which he did.
