Shreveport Salvation Army to send help to Alabama

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Salvation Army of Shreveport-Bossier heads out today to help aid in the recovery efforts of Alabama.

Officials with the local office say they are deploying a disaster canteen crew.

The Salvation Army of Tuscaloosa suffered damage in the storms earlier this week. Those same storms killed more than 300 people in 7 states. Salvation Army officials in Tuscaloosa said two of their buildings were completely destroyed.

The Shreveport office is still collecting items to help out the relief efforts. You can donate supplies like bottled water and wrapped snacks at the office at 200 East Stoner Avenue.
