Residents in along the Little River in southwest Arkansas are being urged to evacuate as the river reaches flood stage. The rain-swollen river is expected to crest some time today.
The National Weather Service issued a flood evacuation notice for the residents who live along the Little River near Horatio. At noon today, the river had exceeded flood stage at 27.63 feet. Flood stage is 27 feet, according to the National Weather Service. Without any additional rain, the river is expected to rise to 28 feet by noon Wednesday.
Those immediately affected in both Sevier and Little River counties are those that have homes built along the river's banks.
At this point, there is no clear figure on how many residents may be affected.
