Marshal Caldwell ordered to pay over $100K after wrongful firing

Shreveport, LA(KSLA)- Shreveport City Marshal, Charlie Caldwell has reportedly been ordered by a federal jury to pay a former deputy more than a hundred thousand dollars.

The suit, filed by Cornell Wilson indicates that he was fired from the Marshal's Office for refusing to vote for Caldwell when he was running for that office.

According to Williams' attorney, Pamela Jones, the $112,900 dollars is for compensation and punitive damages, calling it a wrongful termination.

Caldwell tells KSLA News 12 that he fired Williams for not pulling his weight, and says he plans to appeal the decision.
