SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- Friends and family of the victims of last weekend's double murder in Shreveport prepare for their funeral Saturday.
Linda and Rashonda Taylor were members of Temple of Deliverance Ministries on East 70th Street in Shreveport.
We sat down with the pastor, Rasby Mason. He says he believes this heinous crime could be someone's wake-up call.
"I believe that death is not for the dead, because they're dead. Death is for the living. It comes as a reminder that we must walk that path ourselves, so we must make sure we are living to live again."
He also gives a sneak peak at what he plans to say in Saturday's eulogy.
"In a nutshell, I want to make sure that I effectively minister comfort, care and concern. I just want to let them know that the Lord has not forsaken them, and that He is still God even in the midst of this."
A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Temple of Deliverance. The funeral will be held there on Saturday morning at 11:00
The Taylor family released this statement to KSLA News 12:
"The Taylor family's hearts are saddened by this tragedy, and they are looking to God and believe in the justice system. They are seeking the help of the public because they will never know when it may be their mother or sister. They are asking for anyone who knows, heard, or seen anything to please contact SPD. They are also thankful for the prayers and support shown during this time. Their mother (Linda Faye) and sister Rashonda were fun, loving, friendly, and very kind women."
