Woman involved in car accident in Bossier City dies

Bossier City, LA(KSLA)- A 75-year-old Bossier City woman tragically died tonight during a car crash.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the victim, Mary Cooksey is the mother of Bill Cooksey, who is the Marketing and Public Relations Director at the Shreveport Regional Airport.

The incident happened around 5:45 PM in the 1900 block of Cove Street in the Shady Grove neighborhood.

According to Bossier City Police, Cooksey was backing out of a driveway when at some point she lost control of her vehicle which caused the car to spin into a reverse u-turn and crash into a garage two house down from where the car was initially located.

Police say that she may have suffered a medical condition and was possibly trying to get out of the car or was thrown out of it. Police believe the car may have run over her.

She was taken to LSU Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
