SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- Shreveport police say they're not rushing to any judgment in the investigation into the murder of Linda and Rashonda Taylor. They've interviewed several people since Saturday, including Rashonda Taylor's long-time boyfriend, and plan more interviews.
Public Information Officer Bill Goodin tells us the detectives are working with a sense of urgency, but that they won't jump to any conclusions.
The two women were found dead in their Baxter Street home Saturday afternoon. We asked how close police are to an arrest.
"It's impossible to say with any degree of accuracy how close---that lack of a time frame or time period, it could be this afternoon, or it could be weeks from now. But again, they're going to go where the investigation leads them," Goodin says.
The viewing for the Taylors will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Temple of Deliverance on East 70th Street in Shreveport. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 at the same location.
We're told Rashonda Taylor's two children remain in protective custody. A relief fund has been set for them through Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral. Anyone who wants to donate can stop by any Chase Bank and donate from now until March 1.
