SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –In just the first three quarters of 2010 General Motors made 4.2 billion dollars and is expecting more profits for the fourth quarter.  This means that several thousand GM employees across the nation including that right here in the Ark-La-Tex will receive bonuses which will be based on each employee's performance.  The average bonus will be from 4-16 percent of each salary.  Some bonuses could be as much as 50%.

Doug Ebey who is the local President for the United Auto Workers says it's been nearly a decade since GM has had profits and that means it's been about a decade since employees have had any bonus.

These bonuses are not available to everyone.  Employees who are eligible will have to have worked during 2010.  And for those who are eligible…they can expect to see the bonus in their paycheck at the end of March.
