OIL CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Today marks the eighth day since Tracy Winslow was reported missing, and there's still no sign of the Oil City woman. KSLA News 12 sat down with Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator to get an update on where the investigation is right now.

Even though their searches haven't let them to Winslow yet, he says he's confident that they will find her.

Her mother, Maggie, says she's still hopeful that her daughter is coming home.

"I pray for her every night. I don't know if my baby is cold, what she's got on. I just don't know...don't know how they're treating her, who got her, what they're doing to her."

Wherever she is, Sheriff Prator says detectives are working day and night to find her.

"We have searched, not only throughout Caddo Parish, but into Texas. We've searched ponds, we've used four-wheelers, we've used horseback," he says.

Investigators have also run search warrants on different houses, on phone records, and followed up on tips.

"We want everybody to call, but some of it just doesn't help us much...but we run it down anyway."

Tracy Winslow's car was found burning on North Lakeshore around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, January 24. Today, there is still burned metal, as well as the tire tracks.

"When you find a burned up car, and you have somebody leaving their kids, the chances are that she may have very well fallen prey to someone and not be alive," laments Sheriff Prator.

Winslow's ex-boyfriend, Eddie Lee Jackson, is charged with kidnapping and arson. Her mother has this appeal to him: "Turn my daughter loose, if you don't mind. Just turn her loose."

He's being held at Caddo Correctional Center on more than $800,000 bond. Anyone with information is asked to call the Caddo Sheriff's Office at 318-675-2170.
