SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Investigators have identified a body found nine months ago in a Shreveport bayou.
In April 2010, a fisherman stumbled across the body in a chute off of Twelve Mile Bayou near the Hearne Avenue bridge across from J.S. Clark Middle School.
The remains had been in the water for some time, making identification difficult and no ID was found with the body.
Thanks to extensive forensics and DNA testing, Todd Thoma, Caddo Parish Coroner, say they now know who it is.
Robert Earl Burns went missing on Valentine's Day last year, last seen leaving his home in the 1600 block of Vivian to go to a party.
Dr. Thoma says there was no evidence of trauma, and has determined that burns died from drowning.
