U.S. Sen. Boozeman visits SW part of Arkansas

TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) – Arkansas Republican U.S. Senator John Boozman made his first visit to the southwest Arkansas Thursday. It's his first visit to the region since taking office.

Boozman defeated incumbent Blanche Lincoln during last November's election.

The freshman senator met with area business leaders at the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, and said his office and staff will make regular visits throughout the state of Arkansas.

Senator Boozman said he will be able to meet the needs of border cities like texarkana.

"We will be teaming up with not only (Arkansas 4th District Representative) Mike Ross but also teaming up with the senators and representatives in Texas in order to move the area forward," he said.

Boozman has relocated the Texarkana office to El Dorado, saying this location will be more accessible to all of southwest Arkansas.
