Shreveport Police officer placed on leave

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw has placed an officer on administrative leave after an allegation of potential policy violations.

Corporal Michael Tyler was placed on leave last night pending an internal investigation.

Chief Shaw has also ordered a criminal investigation.

KSLA News 12 got a copy of the criminal complaint connected to the investigation.

It alleges that there was an incident, and a 22-year-old man received minor injuries. However, at this point, SPD cannot name Tyler as a suspect.

Tyler has been with the department since 1997.
