LSU Gets First Practice in Dallas

DALLAS - LSU's 11th-ranked football team made the quick one-hour flight from Baton Rouge to Dallas today as the Tigers arrived here at the Hilton Anatole just after 3 p.m. in what will serve as their home away from home for the week.

LSU will face Texas A&M in the 75th AT&T Cotton Bowl on Friday, Jan. 7 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. It will be the first meeting between the teams since 1995 and just the second time the two schools have met in a bowl game. LSU brings a 10-2 overall record into the game, while the Aggies are 9-3.

The team took part in the Cotton Bowl Media Day this afternoon and took team pictures.

"We are excited to finally get here and get the week underway," LSU coach Les Miles said. "We've had great preparation up to this point. Our practices during bowl prep have been fast-paced, crisp and very productive.

"We are looking forward to our first workout in Cowboys Stadium tomorrow afternoon. It's going to be great to be able to practice in that facility for an entire week leading up to the game. I know the players are excited about it."

LSU received its first look at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night as the Tigers, along with the Aggies, took part in the Cotton Bowl Welcome Party at the stadium. The teams ate dinner and were then treated to a highlight video played on the massive video board - which spans 60-yards in length from the 20-yard line to the other 20-yard line.
