Fmr. Shreveport Asst. Chief Administrative Officer Rick Seaton
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – There are new details in a sexual assault investigation involving a former top executive in Mayor Cedric Glover's administration.
According Assistant Caddo District Attorney Hugh Holland, Shreveport Detectives have executed several search warrants, but he is not saying where they searched or what they took.
Allegations first began after that executive; Rick Seaton was fired Tuesday morning. Mayor Glover sent a news release confirming that Seaton was terminated Tuesday morning. Moments after that was released, the Shreveport Police Department reported that an alleged rape had taken place at Government Plaza where Seaton worked.
Mayor Glover spoke with the media about the incidents, but would not comment on whether the two were connected.
Seaton has been at Mayor Glover's side since 2007 when he was elected. We are unsure as to who else may be involved in this case.
Police say they received a call about 9:20 Monday night from Sam's Town Hotel and Casino in reference to an 18 year old female who had been sexually assaulted. The victim told Police the alleged assault took place at Government Plaza. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. Investigators say they did find evidence related to the assault at the plaza.
Mayor Glover was made aware of the situation late Monday night and made the decision to fire Seaton the next morning.
