CADDO-BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) – Residents in Bossier Parish won't go hungry this holiday season, and 100 kids in Caddo Parish received gifts all because of the sheriff's offices in both parishes.
This morning the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office delivered about 550 Christmas food boxes to less fortunate families.
Deputies tell us that the boxes contained enough food to feed a family of six, and this special delivery is part of their Operation Blessings Program.
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office also helped holiday cheer to kids in need this morning, with the help of the Salvation Army.
The deputies, most of whom work at the Caddo Courthouse, collected the cash to round up enough toys for 100 children.
This morning, they were picked up for delivery in time for Christmas.
The deputies sponsored 50 children from the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, along with an additional 50 children.
