Local Boy Scout Troop sends holiday cheers to troops overseas

Bossier City, LA(KSLA)- A local boy scout troop spent part of their afternoon making sure troops overseas still get some Christmas cheer.

Members of Stockwell Elementary's Pack 170 put their creative skills to good use, making Christmas cards for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"That all ties in to honoring our nation and being proud of the soldiers so they're thanking army men and sailors for doing their part for the nation," said Tom Svoboda with the Boy Scouts Troop.

One local young boy said he is making a decorative wreath card for his father who has been deployed for six months and won't be home for Christmas, but that he will be "skyping" with him on Christmas Day.

The boys will be sending the cards off just in time for the troops to get them before the holidays.
