Three Ark-La-Tex teens arrested in connection to three robberies

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies arrest three teen suspects in connection to two armed robberies Friday morning in Louisiana and Texas.

Caddo Detectives say the three could be responsible for a string of convenience store robberies that have taken place in three jurisdictions over the past several weeks.

The suspects, whose identities have not yet been released, were arrested following a traffic stop on Locust Hill Rd. in Bethany, Louisiana.

The trio reportedly robbed first a Texaco gas station, located in the 9400 block of Mansfield Rd. Deputies say two of the three suspects walked into the business armed with a gun and allegedly stole money from the store and a purse from the clerk.

About 30 minutes later, Caddo deputies say Panola County, Texas Sheriff's deputies reported a similar armed robbery at the Thrift Way convenience store, located on Hwy. 79  in Bethany.

Caddo deputies say that less than 10 minutes after the second robbery, a Caddo deputy spotted the teen's vehicle and reportedly recalled that a white SUV was used in several recent armed robberies of Shreveport businesses.

That's when according to deputies, a traffic stop was initiated.

Two of the three suspects were immediately taken into custody, while deputies say the third fled on foot.

A search then ensued and within minutes authorities were able to locate the third suspect.

Officers also recovered a gun, a mask, a bandana used to conceal their identity, and an undisclosed amount of money at the scene of the arrests.
