UNDATED (KSLA) –Texans can now access their driver records online, the Texas Department of Public Safety announces Wednesday.
DPS officials say Texas drivers can now order their driving records online and print them out immediately instead of waiting to have the record mailed to them.
Before, drivers could order their records online, but had to wait to receive their records through the mail, said Texas DPS.
Now, drivers can place their order using a credit card and their actual driver license, and then print out their record, which is available in a certified version suitable for submitting to a court, officials said.
All Texas drivers, according to DPS, are eligible to use the online record system. To request a record, drivers must provide authentication information from their Texas driver license or ID and the last four digits of their social security number.
In addition to on-demand driver records, Texas online system offers many more service, officials say now Texans can get concealed handgun licensing, contractor driver record requests, driver license renewal, vehicle registration renewal and birth certificate orders.
DPS says users can even access the site while on-the-go through the site's new iPhone App.
