Back on October 9, 2010, Shreveport Police officers were called out to a home in the 2900 block of Hillcrest Avenue. When officers got there, a female victim said Joey M. Willis, hit her in the face during an argument.

Willis is a sergeant with the Shreveport Police Department. He was placed on administrative leave on October 11, 2010.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department immediately started an investigation, and based on the information gathered, investigators obtained an arrest warrant the morning of November 29, 2010, charging Willis with one count of simple battery.

Willis surrendered this afternoon. He will remain on leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.

We're told Willis joined the Shreveport Police Department in March of 1990.
