Black Friday lines form early despite cold rain

The line started forming early Thursday at Best Buy in Shreveport. Some people showed up to pitch their tents as early as 1:00. Derek Groves and Shane Brady say they're excited to get first dibs.

"I'd like to get the Samsung Fascinate phone with Verizon, and I also hope to get a good television," Brady says.

"I think there's a netbook that we're gonna try to get. There's an IPOD Touch deal where you get a gift card with IPOD Touch, and also a Macbook Pro that comes with a gift card also," says Groves.

In Bossier City, rain-soaked shoppers wrapped around the Toys-R-Us. Amanda Rowell and her sister even wore matching Black Friday T-shirts.

"We are here to get Zoo-Zoo pets, and lots of Transformers, and Buzz Lightyear, and a computer," Rowell says.

All the people KSLA News 12 spoke with say they don't mind a the rain and dropping temperatures. They tell us camping out just to be the first through the doors is an experience that's definitely worth it all.

"I would say it's probably 80 percent the actual experience and the tradition, and just for something to do," Derek Groves says.

Shane Brady says he's more than okay with the rainy overnight wait: "It's become a tradition at this point. I've been here the past three years with my friend Jason here, and we just enjoy camping out."
