Update: The Judge grants a continuance in the trial of accused serial killer, Eric Mickelson. The trials for the murders of Charles Martin Junior and Kristi O'pry were both scheduled to begin in January but now Mickelson will be back in court December 1st to set a new trial date.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – An accused serial killer is expected to be back in a Caddo Parish courtroom Monday November 22nd.
Eric Mickelson is charged with the first degree murder of Charles Martin Junior and the second degree murder of Kristi O'pry.
Investigators say Martin was strangled to death when Mickelson and a female accomplice allegedly broke into his home.
Martin's dismembered body was later found in various parts of Caddo Parish. Mickelson is also charged with second degree murder for the 1996 death of Kristi O'pry.
Mickelson reportedly confessed to O'pry's murder while in police custody. We will keep you posted on this trial here at KSLA.com and stay tuned-in to KSLA News 12 for the latest as well.
