Shreveport man arrested for trying to break into payphone

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- Shreveport robbery detectives arrest a 25-year-old man for allegedly trying to break into a convenience store payphone.

Dante Young is in jail Friday, facing charges of criminal property damage and possession burglary tools.

Shreveport Police say Robbery Task Force agents were monitoring a convenience store in the 4100 block of Hollywood Ave.when they say they noticed a suspect trying to break into a payphone at that location.

Detectives say they confronted Young and arrested him without incident. Upon arrest, detective say they also found in his possession wrenches and wire cutters, which they believe Young's intention was to use them to break open the payphone.

He remains at the Shreveport City Jail.
