Circle K robbery suspect caught by SPD while casing 2nd store

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police's special Robbery Task Force arrests a man Thursday night who they say robbed a local convenience store earlier Thursday morning.

As of Friday afternoon, 48-year-old Johnny Madison is behind bars facing charges of simple robbery and felony shoplifting.

Thursday night, Shreveport Police Robbery Task Force agents were reportedly surveillance a convenience store near Youree Dr. in Shreveport when they say they spotted a man sneaking around the store and peeking into windows.

When agents approached Madison, they say they immediately recognized him as the suspect wanted in connection to the robbery of a Circle K gas station on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Thursday morning.

Madison reportedly threatened the cashier with a screwdriver and stolen cartons of cigarettes at the Circle K.

Upon arresting Madison, police say they also found other items in his possession that had reportedly been stolen from retail stores around Shreveport.

Madison is now being held at the Shreveport City Jail.
