Police get local drug dealer off the streets

Shreveport, LA(KSLA)- After a lengthy investigation, Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit have arrested the man responsible for distributing large amounts of illegal drugs in Shreveport.

Over the past few months, Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Agents have been investigating Raymond Bailey,33, for distributing large amounts of Lortabs and Ecstasy pills throughout the Shreveport area.  During surveillance of his residence, undercover agents observed Bailey arrive in his vehicle and notified Shreveport Police Patrol Division officers to conduct a traffic stop.

Upon the stop, agents seized 159 Lortabs valued at $1590.00 and arrested Bailey; then continued to execute the warrant at the Sycamore residence.  Once inside, agents seized 344 Ecstasy pills valued at $10,320.

Officers executed another search warrant at 7651 Kempton Park Drive. They seized $8086.00 in currency and a 38 S&W revolver.

Bailey admitted to investigators that he made money selling illegal narcotics and distributing thousands of pills in Shreveport weekly. Agents also seized Bailey's 2002 BMW Model 745, as he admitted to purchasing the vehicle with proceeds from selling drugs.

Raymond Bailey is already on probation for an illegal narcotic conviction and was booked at Caddo Correctional Center for Possession of Scheduel III W/Intent to Distribute Lortab, Possession of Scheduel I Ecstasy with intent to Distribute and Felon in Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Substance.
